Hampi, an eighth-generation belt maker in Appenzell, opens his atelier to a small group of seven. His family has been practicing this craft since the 1800s. You learn the traditional craft by his side, choose your leather, learn embellishment techniques, and make your own Appenzeller belt from scratch.

Program schedule 07:00 – Meet at Zürich HB 09:15 – Workshop begins 12:00 – Train to Wasserauen 13:00 – Cable car up to Ebenalp, lunch at Berggasthaus Aescher (cliffside inn), hike down through alpine meadows to Seealpsee 18:30 – Return to Appenzell, collect your finished belt 19:00 – Optional farewell drinks with the group

Prices and entry rules CHF 480 per person. Only 5 spots left. All leather and materials are included. Cable car to Ebenalp is included. The belt you make is yours to keep.
