Panel with Ken Bugul, Jean D’Amérique & Aliyeh Ataei
Three celebrated authors from Senegal, Haiti and Iran discuss post-colonial identity, the female condition, political violence and marginalized communities, and the psychological impacts of war and living on the border. All three authors have connections to Zurich's literary scene, having been or currently being writers-in-residence at Literaturhaus Zurich and the PWG foundation.
Ken Bugul is known for her groundbreaking 1982 novel “Le Baobab fou”. Jean D’Amérique is a poet, playwright, novelist, and rapper, author of “Soleil à coudre” (2021). Aliyeh Ataei is an Iranian-Afghan writer and women's rights activist, author of “In the Land of the Forgotten” (2021).
