ESN Luzern City Trip to the Alpabfahrt in Entlebuch.
Every year towards the end of September, the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve becomes a colourful spectacle of traditions and entertainment. Seven Alpine farming families, dressed in traditional costumes and carrying Chüjer (wooden baskets), guide over 300 cows and cattle from their Alpine huts around Sörenberg down to Schüpfheim. They are accompanied by folklore groups, creating a procession through the village.
